Sergio PERTICAROLI'S very brilliant career as pianist all over the world, started in 1952, when the very young musician won the first prize in the international piano contest "Busoni".
One of the most important stages of his career was in 1959, in Egypt, when young Perticaroli met the Russian composer Aram Khatchaturlan. After having heard him playing the piano, the Maestro appointed Perticaroli best performer of his "Mano Concerto" and invited him on a tour in the major European capitals, as his representative. Also John Barbirolli organised a tour in England for Perticaroli as solo piano player with the Hallé Orchestra.
Sergio Perticaroli has been playing in every continent for the most important Musical Institutions and in the most important Concert Halls: the Scala of Milano, the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Glinka Hall in Leningrado, the Symphony Hall in Melbourne, the Colòn Theater in Buenos Aires, the Symphony Hall in Kyoto. He performed with the most prestigious Orchestras such as the Berlin Philarmonica, the London Symphony Orchestra, Radio Moscow and Santa Cecilia Orchestras and with the most famous directors (such as Maazel, Celibidache, Giulini, Abbado, Barbirolli, Khacaturjan, Sawallisch, Kondrasin, ecc.).
Today, he is a famous and a well established artist at international level, acclaimed by the Italian and the international press. He made tours all over Europe, USSR, USA, Australia and Japan. Together with his activity as concert performer, he is also a Professor of piano both in Italy and abroad. He is often in the panel of judges of important Contests such as Busoni, Casadesus, Chopin, Casagrande and Schubert.
